The fun happened as the very last ting with empting the glass…..At first pour it seamed quit clear in colour with a brown like sparkling look. Head was fizzy and white which mostly lasted. Good lacing was observed. Aroma was reasonable malty with notes of light caramel, toasted, bread. Light notes of hops can also be detected. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation feel. Initial flavour was moderates sweet, not much bitterness. Still it felt reasonable balanced. Light sweet finish that had a short duration. Quit drinkable. As I sipped that last beer from the glass, a huge amount of yeast was left in a pile at the bottom of the glass. Never seen that before. Asked my wife if she would like to use the last yeast for her bread baking that was going on in the kitchen….if eyes could kill……he he OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aromas of frosted flakes, some caramel, and some slight orange. Flavor is cereal, bread, caramel, and some slight orange hops at the finish.. Nice balance though. Not much carbonation. Pretty easy to drink and smooth overall.. auderale (572), Fairchild AFB, Washington, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2006 Was really excited to try this one because I really love the Monschof Schwartz. The initial pour revealed a rich amber color with a very slight egg-shell colored head. Little carbonation, but not flat. The aroma of rich german malts dominated the aroma. The first sips reflected the malt forward character expected from a german lager but with a little bit of fruitness from the residual sugars. The mouthfell was rather rich with a comfortable sweetness which finished moderately fast. What was notable was the softness of the flavor profile, a product of good water chemistry and the right yeast.
After I had finished the first half of the glass, I went back and poured the remained of the bottle which included the yeast sediment. Much of the profile remained unchanged, but the sediment added a rich bready character to the beer which was absent in the initial pour. Tmoney99 (4766), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Hazy dark amber with a large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sweet caramel malt earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium malty sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Better than my expectations.
