Commercial Description:
The naturally-cloudy Mönchshof Kellar beer is the result of Mönchshof's centuries-long brewing tradition and of the love of traditional beer brewing. This amber color, mild beer appeals to lovers of unfiltered beer, the way it used to be. A tradional Mönchshof beer specialty.

Ugly, hazy, brown topped by a large, frothy, white head. Grainy malt aroma with subtle yeast and hops, also. Same flavor with some roastiness. Hops standout in the aftertaste. Smooth, medium body. Nice brew to have with boldly flavored food, pizza, or a burger. First keller I’ve had, have to find some more for some comparison.

1pt 9oz bottle poured into a glass tankard. Pours a light brown with a good white head. If I didn’t know better I’d say this beer was flat or still. No signs of carbonation. Not much to talk about. Very clean lager character that doesn’t leave much aroma of flavor. A lot like any old pale lager.

A pale brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is of caramel and straw. The flavor is sweet and again with notes of caramel and straw, leading to an OK hoppy end.

Bottled: Amber coloured. Hazy. Fluffy beige head. Sweet, light spiced and fruity aroma. Flavour has light caramel, fruits and sweetness. Is quite smooth and balanced. Has some light herbal notes. Medium bodied. Is very light bitter and fruity in the end.

Swinglock bottle. Pours a clear deep amber color with a small off-white head that fades slowly to a ring. Fantastic honeycomb lacing left behind. Aroma is fairly clean, modest malt and some notes of catty, earthy hops. Medium to light bodied with fair carbonation. Light roasted malt flavor and a nice finish of spicey hop flavor that doesn’t seem to linger. Fairly clean finish. Decent.

Swing-top. Amber to light brown pour, unclear, with a creamy white head. Musty malty aroma, lots of bread and some veggies. Earthy. Tastes of unfiltered malt, thickish, sweetish, cellary, a little caramelly. Gentle and well-made, I like it.

Thick, malty, sweet aroma is mildly vegetal and salty. Clear copper coloured body is topped by a low white head that recedes to a partial cover. Salty, earthy character balances with sweet caramel and bready malts. Some damp mustiness. Soft texture with lively carbonation. Bottle sampled with GonZoBeeR, MartinT, Rastacouere and Siroy.
