Commercial Description:
The naturally-cloudy Mönchshof Kellar beer is the result of Mönchshof's centuries-long brewing tradition and of the love of traditional beer brewing. This amber color, mild beer appeals to lovers of unfiltered beer, the way it used to be. A tradional Mönchshof beer specialty.

Light amber coloured beer with almost no carbonation and a very small white head. Hoppy grainy sweet fresh herby aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is herby with some grassy hoppy tones. Sweet longer dry finish. Medium one

Pours a cloudy light brown with a big head head. Looks great. Good malty aroma with caramel notes in it. Nice malty taste with a slight amount of hops. Has a sort of brandy taste to it. Quite a good lager.

500ml flip top. My first keller bier. It Poured a cloudy orange-copper/brown color with a very nice off-white fluffy head. The aroma had sweet caramel with tobacco and some honey. Flavor is a decent blend of grainy, toasty, doughy, honeyish malt sweetness and lightly spicy, leafy, fruity hops, accompanied by tinges of light bitterness and a gentle yeast presence. Mouthfeel was fully and hearty, liquid bread, a nice beer.

500 ml bottle thanks to Jason for bringing this back from Sacramento. Yeast and malt on the nose, Similar flavors with some sweet lemon citrus on the finish. Just ok, but refreshing.

Glass poured fresh from 5L party keg. Never seen a kellerbier anywhere outside Germany, this is certainly a treat! Pours an enticing chuck-laden murky copper body with a moderate dense white head leaving clumpy lace on the way down. Sweet malt on the nose, caramelly and toasty, some musty dried fruit, earthy spice and bread. Lively carbonation, moderate body, has a somewhat appealing grittiness about the texture. Toasty malt body, sweet toffee and fresh baked bread, orange citrus and musty dried apricot, spicy almost like a Belgian towards the finish. Reasonably bitter with a lingering drying spice and breadiness. Big fan of this style, wish it were more common place downunder. Quite a nice beer overall too.

1 pint .9 fl oz swing top bottle purchased at Lukas in Kansas City, MO. Pour is a cloudy brown golden with a great bubbly settling and a 1 inch tan head. Aroma of sweet fruit and bready maltiness. Very much a toasted caramel sweetness. Big, full nose and pretty syrupy. Taste is sweet and syrupy. Caramel is there, still toasted but there is now an orange syrup sweetness as well. The palate is nice, unfiltered and mouth coating. Very low carbonation. Overall, interesting, but a bit more syrupy sweetness than I like.

Murky looking, straw coloured body with short head. Yeasty aroma along with a little bit of toffee, a little bit more of the malts showing in the taste making it very drinkable.

clear dark brown pour, but then i swirled in some of the sediment, and got s nice cloudy brown. A nice full beige head, and some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is bready, and biscuity, quite nice. Nice full bodied lager, a good amount of malt in the flavour with some nicy roasty notes, and that great chewy breadiness. Super drinkable, excellent stuff.
