Commercial Description:
Our Mönchshof Lager is pale and dry, a beer for the discerning beer connoisseur. This traditional beer wins over beer drinkers due to its noble and refreshing taste. The name lager comes from the German word for store-room, and lager beers are created by cold fermentation conditions and long storage times, which guarantee their perfect ripeness. This fine-spicy beer offers refreshment for every occasion and all year-round

Light golden with a medium, creamy head. The aroma has a light sweetness, notes of malt and straw. The flavour is smooth with notes of malt, caramel and a very low, slight dry, bitterness. Uncomplicated, but.....

Bottle at Hotel in Munich. Clear golden with tall head. Skunky and eggy nose. Hoppy and dry. Carbonated with prickly mouthfeel.

Swingtop sampled in Crete. Pale gold with dense suds. Sweetly malty nose with saazy hops. Unfussy, dry, pilsener-like lager with a piney bite of hop bitterness. Lacily smooth. Pretty good lager, if soporifically dull.

Bottle Swing-top: Poured a golden color with thick creamy white head. The aroma is sweet harvest. Taste is a corny bitter hoppy flavor.

The worst one I tried from Mönchshof sereies. A typical average lager beer rather boring.

Bottle. Clear yellow hue with a light fizzy white head. Aroma was light notes of hops and malty. Light bodied with a dry texture to it. A light sweet flavour and finish. Not much to get excited about here.
