Commercial Description:
Our Mönchshof Lager is pale and dry, a beer for the discerning beer connoisseur. This traditional beer wins over beer drinkers due to its noble and refreshing taste. The name lager comes from the German word for store-room, and lager beers are created by cold fermentation conditions and long storage times, which guarantee their perfect ripeness. This fine-spicy beer offers refreshment for every occasion and all year-round

Bottle. Golden colour with a large, but fast fading, white head. Hoppy and bready aroma. Taste is dominated by malts, perhaps a hint of bitterness in the finish. Medium to light bodied. Moderate carbonation. An OK lager.

Bottle. Creamy good head, mostly lasting. Pale yellow colour. Nice aroma, very hoppy. Flavour a bit malty average finish, too fizzy and watery.

Pale golden colour with a medium creamy head and a fair lazing. Bitter flavour in a watery body and a bit too carbonated.

(Bottle 50 cl) Rare for a German beer to actually use the term "Lager" on it’s label. But that’s what it is, a pale lager without much personality. I miss some hops to add aroma and flavour and... Solid malt base and not really anything else. 100800

(swing top bottle) Clear yellow to golden colour with a big foamy white head. This one is quite easy to drink and smooth but also unspectacular. Bready and malty aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, soft malty taste with short slightly bitter finish. Could have had more body.

Bottled. Pale and relatively flat looking beer with a lightly hopped and malty aroma and a sweetish dry flavour. Overall a standard but reasonable continental lager.
