Commercial Description:
Our Mönchshof Lager is pale and dry, a beer for the discerning beer connoisseur. This traditional beer wins over beer drinkers due to its noble and refreshing taste. The name lager comes from the German word for store-room, and lager beers are created by cold fermentation conditions and long storage times, which guarantee their perfect ripeness. This fine-spicy beer offers refreshment for every occasion and all year-round

Bottled. Golden colour, rich head. Malt aroma. Medium sweet with soft mouthfeel and a lovely deep malt character. Sweeter finsih with low bitterness. Beers labelled "Premium Lager" usually suck. This is the exception.

Comes with a very un German label which made me think it might just be another bottle of Euro-Fizz.It turned out to be better than this. Its rather malty with hops in the background. Not bad but on the other not good either.

Bottled. Pale and relatively flat looking beer with a lightly hopped and malty aroma and a sweetish dry flavour. Overall a standard but reasonable continental lager.

Bottle, from shop at Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof. Straw gold, good fluffy white head and moderate condition. Gentle pilsner hoppiness and low malt in the nose, soft and hoppy in the mouth and a restrained bitterness in the short finish.

Light hoppy aroma with a creamy, fully dissipating head. Pale yellow color, but a nice clean, crisp, dry palate. Kind of sweet flavor with a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Not too bad.

Clear golden colour with small head. First noticed the smooth mouthfeel. Very balanced between hops and malt. Hoppiness is of a slightly flowery kind. Very mild. Decent Lager.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Golden colour, mediumsized white fluffy head. Aroma is malts, hops, some slight earthy notes. Flavour is rather sweet hops, some fruity and floral hops along with some wooden and earthy notes. A nice twist from the norm Dortmunder/Helles in the flavour. Very refreshing and drinkable.

Swingtop sampled in Crete. Pale gold with dense suds. Sweetly malty nose with saazy hops. Unfussy, dry, pilsener-like lager with a piney bite of hop bitterness. Lacily smooth. Pretty good lager, if soporifically dull.
