Commercial Description:
Our gold-yellow Mönchshof Country Beer impresses by its recipe. The finest spicy hops produce its full-bodied aroma. Its aromatic malt flavor comes from noble summer barley. Special proprietary yeast and the soft water, ideal for brewing, from the pristine springs of the Fichtelgebirge add to its traditional export beer character. A real pleasure.

Bottled, 500ml swing top from Real Supermarket, Bamberg. Clear gold, white head slight carbonation. I must admit to enjoying the Landbier style, there is a light, fresh hop, lemony with a hint of herb. This one is a touch thin, but with a light to mid malt there is enough body around to taste. Reasonable beer.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is sweet and grassy to hoppy. Flavour is sweet, subdued caramel malt and with a nice dry bitterhops flavour shining through. Ends bitter and refreshing.

[bottle] Strong hay in the nose, quickly followed up by fresh, noble hops. Clear gold under a thin white, blanket that’s a little lacey and began as something big. Clean flavour that is full of 2-row with a touch of caramel and loaded with hops flavour as well. Notes of grassy hay and balance on the side of sweetness due to very subtle hops bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation, sweet but almost clean finish.

Draught. Golden colour with a white head. Hoppy aroma with hints of malts. Flavour is malty, grassy hoppy and a bit fruity. Smooth and a bit watery. Some bitterness in the finish.

500ml bottle. Pours golden with a white head and large bubbles. Yeasty aroma of pilsner malt. The taste isn’t bland, but it’s balanced, middle of the road, no sharp edges stuff. Smooth and soft, it fills the mouth well. A decent drink but not likely to stick in the memory.

Bottle. Nice strong smell of hops and malt. White small foamy head, normal long lasting, golden body. Light bitter and light sweet taste, nice. Medium duration on the palate. Light to medium body, dry and light creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nice beer.

Pours a lightly cloudy golden body with an enormous frothy off-white head. Long lasting head retention and considerable carbonation. Malty aroma.

Bottle. Golden, low carbonation, very slight haze. Flavour is malty, softly flavoured, grainy, not much bitterness or anytjhing else. I can’t say I really saw much in it.
