Commercial Description:
Our gold-yellow Mönchshof Country Beer impresses by its recipe. The finest spicy hops produce its full-bodied aroma. Its aromatic malt flavor comes from noble summer barley. Special proprietary yeast and the soft water, ideal for brewing, from the pristine springs of the Fichtelgebirge add to its traditional export beer character. A real pleasure.

Very pale with a large lacy white head. Soft grassy hoppy aroma, a bit of fresh white bread smell, very simple but so very nice. Fluffy light body, hopping is assertive enough, giving quite a bit of spice and some grassiness towards the finish. Dry in the finish too. In all its simplicity, I really really enjoyed this.

Color is clear golden. Aroma is a good with malt and hops. Herbal flavors, grass. Grainy/bready finish. Also dry and hoppy.

Bottle, Dodgy Deli, Cowley Road in Oxford. Pale gold pour, white cap that settles with some lace. Spicy haystack aroma, summery and bright, a touch of yeast. Crisp grassy hop flavor, with a pleasant sticky resin quality. Bright wheaty malt. A really nice surprise.

The bottle looks a little bit boring. The aroma is sweet-spicy. The flavor the same - very good and very drinkable beer.

Golden with a nice head. The aroma has notes of malt, flower and hints of fruit. It’s a full bodied pilsner with notes of malt, flower and some fruit. It’s quenching and pleasant and the bitterness is limited. 2347

Bottled. Clear golden coloured, impressive white head. Dusty and malty aroma with some grain and herbal notes. Malty flavour with pleasant bitterness. A pleasant surprise. Thanks to my mom for bringing it from Germany.

You can label it Keller or Landbier, but it’s just a clean, malty, unusually tasty lager with a gnaw of conifer. Soft, balanced, tasty and mellow. Polish and pine. If all lager tasted like this, I might actually drink it. Swingtop from Arden Wines, Bulko.
