Commercial Description:
Our gold-yellow Mönchshof Country Beer impresses by its recipe. The finest spicy hops produce its full-bodied aroma. Its aromatic malt flavor comes from noble summer barley. Special proprietary yeast and the soft water, ideal for brewing, from the pristine springs of the Fichtelgebirge add to its traditional export beer character. A real pleasure.

Pours light golden and effervescent with a thin foamy, mostly maintained white head. Aroma of malty grain, toasted malt, cracker crispy. Taste is sweet, malty, chewy, with undertones of bready lager yeast. Mouthfeel is medium / full bodied with lively carbonation.

500ml bottle: poured bright golden yellow with a smallish white head. Mild grain aroma with a touch of grape and hops. Flavor is mild grain and grapes, fairly full body. Slightly herbal. Nicely refreshing and finishes just a touch sweet. Good.

Swing-top. Clear yellow pour with a short, soapish white head. Smells malty, herby, sweetish, with straw and even a little bread. Sweetish crisp malt taste, bread, dry finish, a little bitterness. A bit like a Pilsner.

Refreshing lager with a nice crisp, light, taste. Pretty dull on the edges with little to speak of for hop or malt, but as session beers go, this one’s not bad.

Bottled. Crispy gold. White head that dissipates fast but easily invigorates. Good lacing. The aromas of grass and herbs. Herbal flavors, grass. Grainy/bready finish. Also dry and hoppy. Leaves a pleasant hoppy mouthfeel.

Is this was an ordinary pilsner, it would be a very great beer. Aroma of hobs and malt and a powerful taste of both.
