Dark red, near-black pour. Grainy malt nose. Roasted malt flavor, very rich and dark. Pleasant understated hop bitterness. Very enjoyable.

(GERMANY) This brew was provided by Death with a K, thanks !! Pours a dark amber color with a sm-white head. The aroma is of dark fruit, roasted malts and caramel. The taste is sweet with some roasted notes. This brew was pretty good and i would drink another.

Bottle, thanks Keath - Another dark reddish brown pour, white head. Bread and grain malt body with a dark fruit undertone. Some roasted quality, a touch of sweetness, a slight bitter dryness towards the end. Pretty good balance.

Clear deep garnet color with a rocky tan head. Dry roasty dark malt aroma. Smooth medium body. Nice dark lager roasted malt flavors with some caramel sweetness. Not too bad.

Bottle shared by Death with a K. Thanks Keath. Pours dark reddish-brown with a white head. Smells of raisins and caramel. Taste is sweet raisins, dough, and toffee. Just a tad too sweet. One of the best Schwarzbiers that I have had.

50cl bottle. Ruby / amber with thick brownish head. Aroma of sweeet caramel malts and grain. Taste was slightly roasted, thick mouthfeel with grains that leave this typical pilsner aftertaste. It is a good schwarzbier but nothing that helps is stand out from the lot.

7/5/08 at the Seattle International Beerfest. Aroma is roast plum. Appearance is dark brown with a moderate maintained cream colored head. Flavor is roasted grains with some cream and dark fruit; very clean. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a grainy carb texture. Overall, great dark grain influence; refreshing. 12/3/08 From the bottle. Aroma is toffee and light coffee with light roast forward and no hop flora. Appearance is clear copper brown with a medium maintained cream colored head. Flavor is simple and malt heavy with some roast sourness and ample sweetness. Bittering is low and absent hop flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a grainy carb texture. Overall, seems a bit big for the style, but the flavor is right in line.
