Dark ruby, almost black. Aroma is nicely malty with apparent coffee beans. Flavors of roasted malts and dark chocolate. Finishes smoothly bitter. Medium bodied with very round and smooth carbonation. Dark and interesting, but still extremely drinkable.

Bottle from Rich O’s - Pours dark ruby with a thin foamy tan head. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vienna, light caramel and herbs. Tastes of light toffee, crackery and bready malt. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lush carbonation. A nice and very sessionable dark lager.

Swingtob via trade with slob. Pours a deep brown with a wonderful amber coming thru when held up to light. A swiftly diminishing head settles rapidly to a thin fildm expected withthis style. Some residual wavy legs at start, a good sign. A robust caramel nose that is lightly interspersed with hops. Body is medium with gentle maltiness th a hint of peat. Mouthfeel is quick and light malts are surrounded by whole leaf hopsand overhadow the quick body and fade gently after a few moments leaving the tip of your tounge tingling. An above average Schwarzbier. No chalkiness. many thanks to Robert and Slob!

500ml bottle poured into an English pint. KMS pours much darker than I expected. It looks like a thin porter. The head is medium and rocky. The lacing is looks like ice cream. The aroma contains chocolate-covered cherries, tea, chocolate and rocks. The body is medium to medium-heavy slightly oily. The flavor is mildly chocolately but is mostly a nicely roasted malt flavor. This is a pretty darned good example of a schwarzbier.

Bottle as depicted. Dark pour with a light white cloud formed on top. Flavors were roasted malts, liquorice, toffee, chocolate, and slightly stale grain notes. Not the best Swartz out there but competitive for the style.. a session beer. Miles better than Sam Adams black lager.

Toffee and chocolate in the nose from this dark beer. Aromas of bread and rye notes as well. Smooth sweetness with dark chocolate and coffee notes. A bit thin in body, but that leaves room for a second glass. Very delicious beer.
