500 ml. Uncloudy, dark brown with red highlights. Large, creamy and lasting head. Aroma is earthy, musty, smoky chocolate molasses. Initial flavor of smoked corn on the cob gives way to caramel, dark roasted walnut, slight black pepper and sourish, smoky, chocolate cherry. Medium body is mostly smooth, with an earthy-dry finish.

Very dark brown, transparent, with a huge, beige head. The aroma is weak, slightly sweet. The flavour is typical for a schwartzbier, very malty, mostly roasted malt, caramel, sweetness and weak notes of coffee and chocolate. It has an OK bitterness and it’s quite nice.

16.9oz swing top bottle. Pours dark brown in color with thin light brown head. Aroma sweet, malt and molasses. Taste of malt and coffee with a licorice and dry finish. The licorice is not may cup of tea.

Pours a regular finger width head that receeds and keeps a good lacing. It smells like really good coffee and dark chocolate flavors, such as you would find in a sweet european chocolate with french coffee. Tastes almost like a coffee stout, but lighter. Has an aftertaste like I’ve just chewed on a coffee bean, not strong, but apparent. Tastes malty, but with only a slight hint of hops at first taste. Feels like a light beer in your mouth and goes down farel well.

swing top bottle poured a dark brown almost black in color with good carbination both on the pour and through the tasting leaving a thin cover that made an attempt at lacing. aroma of nutty malt, chocolate, some roasted coffee, and vanilla. flavor is mild on the mouth feel, starts with malts then thins out to finish with a little bitterness. very drinkable and has a nice sweetness to the malts. asked the guy in the beer store to pick me one i probably would not pick up on my own and this is it, glad i tried it.

<draught from a 5L barrel> 3 months after bbf. Very dark brown with an extremely big brown head. Nice aroma of roasted nuts and something smoked (might have been from the outside fireplace where i drank it). Flavor is medium sweet with plenty notes of roastyness and toasted bread, soft mouthfull, enjoyable.
