Bottle. Bought @ Hviids, Aabenraa. Pour is a deep red-brown, nearly bordering on black. A great, 3cm thick head sits atop the liquid - Very creamy and with a slight brownish dirtyness to it. Aroma is malty with sugary and chocolate undertones. A little roasted malts as well. Relatively high carbonation. Flavour is very nice! Roasted malts, a thickness with chocolate and a little smoky ash at the far end. Not that bitter, but the hops balance nicely with the roasted tones. One of the best Schwarz, I’ve had.

Bottle, from Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbot, Devon, had this sat outside my tent at Towersey Festival Pours very dark brown in colour, busy off white head, aroma had a slightly sour tinge but this was soon overtaken by bitter chocolate and burnt brown sugar. taste was more of the same but roasty, malty and quite moreish, good beer!

Pours a dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma is of toasted malts, caramel, chocolate, and molasses. Flavor starts off with the toasted and sweet malts, caramel up front that gives way to it’s dry finish of chocolate and molasses. Flavor does linger a little but it’s not too strong. Not my favorite schwarzbier.

Really nice, I liked the toasted grains flavour wiht the sweetness and the bavarian touch although is not preciselly one. The foam was quite brown and interesting, like disperse but still.

Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a well-lacing, frothy tan head. Aroma of toasty sweet, doughy, dark caramel German malts along with a touch of oxidation. Body starts about average, with a decent amount of carbonation and lightly sweet dark caramel and chocolate sweetness. An ok Schwarzbier that would probably be better tried fresher in Germany.

Very dark with a two finger tan head with some lacing. An abundant aroma of roasted malts and some coffee. Light hops also noticed. Smooth and very drinkable, with a hint of nuts and caramel on the finish. Very nice even if it was a hot day.

Pretty brown pout. Heavy malt aroma. Medium body with good malt taste and mild finishing hops.

pours a lighter black with a one finger fluffy tan head. aroma is roasted dark malt with hops. has a light to medium body with good lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma with a little coffee and dark chocolate. there is a little of the coffee in the aroma as well. little thin on the palate but not bad. has a little yeasty musty aroma and flavor also. has a little dry hop aftertaste and as it warms there is a little fruit punch aroma and flavor. the barley also comes out in the aroma and flavor.
