Draft at Hop Leaf. Pour is deep reddish black. Black Pils really is the best way to describe it. Has ample body but virtually no roastiness, some caramel flavors, but very dry and clean. Interesting brew.

Bottle sampled with stegosaurus. Pours a very dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, and nuts. Flavor is smooth and well balanced with dark malts, and coffee with a dry finish. a very good schwarzbier.

bottle- aroma of feet, or locker room...Not sure, maybe both. Flavor has a nice roastyness, malt, coffee like, with the dry sweetness that typically accompanies pils and lagers. Not bad, aside from the smell.

16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a deep brown which allows just a bit of light to pass when held against a lamp. Moderate linen white head that lasted until about mid-glass. Light aroma of molasses and malt. The flavor is again molasses and malt along with, oddly enough, just a touch of soy sauce. Some moderate hops bitterness at the finish. Light bodied and easy to drink.

Dark brown pour with faint off-white head. Light roasted malt nose. Roasted malt flavor with a faint caramel malt undertone and a bit of a bitter hop at the end.

A decent example of the style. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and hop with some sweetness. Taste is a bit sour at first and then develops into a chocolate toffee maltiness. Finish is bitter. Good.

Sampled from a bottle @ River’s Bend Wine and Spirits. Thanks Matt. Pours a clear dark brown color with a small beige head. The aroma was mild roasted malt and a little bit of caramel. The flavor again had sweet caramel malt and some roasted malt in the beginning. The finish was a bit drier with some bitterness, not much. Medium bodied.
