| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2009 500ml bottle. Pours a nearly opaque dark chestnut-brown. A tightly packed head forms on pour and hangs around for a while. Aroma is of toasty dark malt, toffee and a small hint of licorice. Flavor is rich dark but caramel-y sweet malt with some bitterness from the toasty grains. Whatever licorice was in the aroma does not show up in the flavor at all. Light to moderate hops do show up though , as does a tiny hint of soy. Medium mouthfeel with malty aftertaste. Good stuff. beernovice39 (281), South Carolina, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2009 Poured a tall glass of this at my parent’s house. Slight toffee malty smell with a colour that was like Cherry Cola. Taste also had some cola along with roasted barley and a heavy malt presence. More flavours popped up subtley as it warmed. Nothing incredible, but a nice relaxing drink, nonetheless.
