Sep 4, 2009 At brewery museum cafe. Very dark brown with red tint. Excellent ice cream/cappuccino foam head. Really solid, beautiful gorgeous grain husk aroma. Quaffable palate. Excellent quaffable toasty. Great grain just enough husks. Dark bread. Great sweet juicy malt backbone. Pumpernickel and licorice mingling together. Nice.

Sep 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice ruddy-black color with a good tan head. Aromas of chocolate and malts along with a similar taste with a hint of cherry. Nice, creamy mouth feel. Light to medium bodied. Very enjoyable.

Aug 31, 2009 500ml bottle.
Pours a nearly opaque dark chestnut-brown. A tightly packed head forms on pour and hangs around for a while. Aroma is of toasty dark malt, toffee and a small hint of licorice. Flavor is rich dark but caramel-y sweet malt with some bitterness from the toasty grains. Whatever licorice was in the aroma does not show up in the flavor at all. Light to moderate hops do show up though , as does a tiny hint of soy. Medium mouthfeel with malty aftertaste. Good stuff.

Aug 24, 2009 Pours dark brownish red. Coffee bean scent. Nothing stands out as great but the beer is very enjoyable and drinkable. A pleasure.

Clear orange red coloured with a medium sized off white head.
Roasted aroma of malts, hay and liquorice.
Roasted flavour of malts, liquorice, hay and caramel.
Roasted and hoppy finish.

Aug 3, 2009 Poured a tall glass of this at my parent’s house. Slight toffee malty smell with a colour that was like Cherry Cola. Taste also had some cola along with roasted barley and a heavy malt presence. More flavours popped up subtley as it warmed. Nothing incredible, but a nice relaxing drink, nonetheless.
