Dec 19, 2006 Bottle. Quite malty, some caramel and brown sugar and some subtle marmitey characters. Slightly toasty and roasty towards the finish. Pretty decent.

Dec 8, 2006 Dark reddish brown with a small head. Smoke, ash, liquorice and sweet malt are blended in the aroma. Taste is sweet and malty with some chocolate and smokiness in the background. Some dryness. Excellent.

Dec 6, 2006 Brown pour with a fizzy brown head. Perfectly transparent and red when held up to a light. Very sweet and malty aroma with hints of chocolate. Nicely carbonated, with a mildly fruity flavor up front, with some pronounced roasty characteristics. Mellow nad rich, with a sedated bitterness. Finishes with a earthy hop bite.

Dec 5, 2006 Good malty aroma. Dark brownish-red color with good head retention and lacing. Great roasted malt flavor with well balanced bitter finish. Not too bitter though. Dark chocolate is evident amongst a long-lasting finish.The mouthfeel is very pleasant. I am a big fan of Schwarzbiers, and this version is one of the best.

Nov 27, 2006 Bottle - deep brown with purple highlights through the light. Beige head atop. Not a ton of aroma, but a touch of smoke. Slightly fizzy body. Flavor is malty and a touch roasty. Just a hint of smoke. Good.
