Poured a tall glass of this at my parent’s house. Slight toffee malty smell with a colour that was like Cherry Cola. Taste also had some cola along with roasted barley and a heavy malt presence. More flavours popped up subtley as it warmed. Nothing incredible, but a nice relaxing drink, nonetheless.

Pour is nice with a dark, rusty brown, translucent color and a moderate, beige, creamy head which is somewhat lasting and leaves minimal sporadic lace. Nose is typical but nice with some dark bread crusts, almonds, faint raisin, toasted grains, and some floral hops hiding behind the malts. Flavor is much of the same with raisins noted first, some toasted caramels, bread crusts, hints at malted chocolate, and some pils-like spicy, floral hops finding their way to the end of the flavor progression. Palate is light to medium, crisp, a bit watery, and lively, drying out near the finish. The finish is somewhat dry with lots of bread crusts, hints at malted chocolate, and some floral hops. Avery nice example of a classic German Schwarz with dry, rich malt notes and some balancing noble hops. Nothing really special about the beer but very drinkable and enjoyable.

Sampled from a 16.9 oz flip top brown bottle this beer poured a black color with red highlights and a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma was dry, malty and had notes of malted milk and faint floral hops. The aroma was dryish, malty and toasty with a touch of malted milk and moderate dry floral hops. The finish was long, malty and toasty with noted floral hops. medium body. Interesting.

Ok, it might not have floored like the tasting notebelow but this a very solid ber. Quite muscular for the style, as least in my experience, with lots of chocolate biscuit malts driving a bold flavour profile. I didn’t pick up much of a hop impact but the finish was certaintly drier than what I initially expected. The malts also finished a touch funky, but I’ll put this down to the fact the beer is just out of date.

Mini keg pour is black with a thick creamy brown head that sticks to the glass. Aroma is milk chocolate and roast malt. Taste is biscuity with a slight bitter chocolate finish. Texture is smooth and creamy, very good.

0,5 Liter beugelfles heerlijk zwart bier. Niet een te zware zwarte smaak.

Black with beige, dense head. Malty aroma. Roasted, malty flavour with coffee notes. Smoke? Underlying malty sweetness, sugar sticky palate. A note of acidity in a rather dry finish.
