Bottle: Dark brown when viewed from the side, but when held to light it shows some ruby highlights. Small tan head that lasts for a few sips. Aroma is roasted chocolate, caramel, sweet plums, yeast, cooked vegitables. Taste is sweet malts, caramel, mild roasted malts, chocolate, a hint of grassy hops and just a bit of acidic malt. Medium bodied, though it feels quite crisp and light in the mouth, moderate-lively carbonation.

dark brownish-black with a medium tan head. aroma and flavor of chocolate, caramel, roast. really taste the caramel. moderately sweet. begins feeling medium-bodied and watery (in a good way) in mouth and then becomes this cool light creamy thick feel without being too full or overwhelming. moderate carbonation.

Pours a dark brown with a milky head. Tastes like a stout but feels much lighter, like a pilsner. Chocolate malty flavors again like a stout, but not nearly as thick. Pretty darn good.

Nice pour. Dark brown with red highlights; big off-white head with great lacing. Very creamy on the tongue-easy drink. Not a heavy beer; wutie refreshing.

Pours to a dark red-black translucent color with a beautiful creamy off-white head that has stupendous lacing. I get some cooked vegatables, caramel, and roasted malts. Unfortunately, this one’s pretty weak. The flavor is a really creamy roasted malt. The palate has some dust and dryness to it, albeit it’s still creamy and thick. I like this beer, I just wish it had some aroma! Too weak!

Bottled. Dark beer with a slightly reddish tinge and reasonable head retention. The aroma is slightly malty and the flavour is dry, slightly roasted and malty. Overall a very dry nice beer.

Clear redbrown color, i would have expected it to be darker like the Kostritzer. Like the color, the aroma and taste are also a bit disappointing. Not full and creamy, but more flat. Quite bitter. I like these brews to be more in the direction of a stout.

Aroma of dark malts and some hops. Clear brown-reddish coloured with a thin, off-white head. taste is sweet, a bit bitter, roasted malty, bit hoppy. Watery texture. decent palate. Okay brew.
