| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2005 Bottle from Duane! Swing top poured a red/brown with a small tan head. Roasted malts and trace hops. Well, I was excited, but this did not live up to my expectations. Mouth feel was watery, and I tasted no hops. Not a great schwarz. SoLan (1426), Orlando, Florida, USA

Nice sweet brown sugar aroma aaccentuated by slight hoppy notes. Flavor smooth and malty with a slight nutty chocolatey taste and maybe even a bit of smokiness underneath. Finish is a slight bit bitter and dry, but also crisp and clean. Very well balanced beer that I enjoyed through its entirety. Panzuriel (995), Westerville, Ohio, USA
