Light hop aroma and maybe a little fruity. Good taste. Lots of roasted malts with a little bit of hops. Very smooth. Maybe I should try more of these dark pilsners. oh6gdx (9109), Vasa, Finland

Soft roasted malt in the pretty weak aroma. Taste consists of roasted malt and a bit of chocolate in the finish. Very wellbalanced. egajdzis (3644), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 28, 2005 Poured a copper red color with a large off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, citrus fruitiness, caramel and nuts. Taste was very malty of caramel, roast and chocolate, light smoke, with a short, dry, lightly bitter finish. Pretty stoked I picked this one up. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2005 Deep brown - but not black - colour with a fine beige head. Aroma is roasted with subtle hints of chocolate and smoke. In my book, the beer actually is »supremely drinkable« despite the distinct dark and malty flavour. A nice and smooth schwartzbier! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 15, 2005 Slightly burned caramel nose. Taste changes between the sweet and the dry. Well balanced, interesting example of the style. pivo (2537), Germany
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2005 Light toasted nose, clear dark brown color, frothy head. Thin creamy malt with some light chocolatey tastes. A little nuttiness too with a dry woody flavor after the swallow. Quite reserved but a decent schwarzbier.
