It pours a deep mahogany color with a very creamy off-white head that lingers to thickly coat the glass. It’s got a sweet malty aroma, but not cloyingly so. Having a very rich, creamy mouthfeel, it’s got the flavor to back it up - roasted malt, caramel, and a hint of smoke. There’s a light hit from the hops on the finish, making this a very satisfying drink. If somewhat light. Dogbrick (2855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2005 This brew is a dark brown cola color with a medium thick beige head and fair lacing. Smoky aroma, with some roasted coffee and caramel. Medium-bodied and earthy with flavors of hops, toasted malt and smoke. The finish is carbonated and mildly bitter. All in all a decent Schwarz. presario (2960), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Soft off-white head. very dark copper to brown. Dark nose with a hint of spiced chocolate, coffee and carbon. Black toffee licorice flavour sticks to the tongue. Lots of coffee, hint of molasses sweetness and bread. Hint of spiciness in the finish. Earlier Rating: 1/7/2005 Total Score: 2.8 Dark copper colour allows a little light through. Quickly thinning light brown head. Light smoke aroma. Flavour starts out inviting and intriguing but drops off halfway down the tongue. Notes of brown sugar and smoke. Body is thin. Flavour is nice enough but thin and without depth. ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Medium dark malt aroma, crisp and light on the palate, quiet decaf and light choc finish. I would try this again. IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan

Roasted malts and some cocoa and vegetal scents. Roasty flavors with slight malt sweetness and floral hops. I’m not a big Schwarz fan, but this is good! thegreenrooster (1829), St.louis, Missouri, USA
