Bottle. A strong coffee-dark chocolate malt aroma - slightly tannic reminiscent of a doppelbock. Dark reddish brown color with little head. Initial flavor of creamy chocolate and a slightly smoky coffee malt finish - mild hops throughout. NIce drinkable Schwarzbier.

I like this beer, but it has to be the lightest colored schwarz (which always meant "black" to my German family) that I’ve ever had. It pours a deep mahogany color with a very creamy off-white head that lingers to thickly coat the glass. It’s got a sweet malty aroma, but not cloyingly so. Having a very rich, creamy mouthfeel, it’s got the flavor to back it up - roasted malt, caramel, and a hint of smoke. There’s a light hit from the hops on the finish, making this a very satisfying drink. If somewhat light.

This brew is a dark brown cola color with a medium thick beige head and fair lacing. Smoky aroma, with some roasted coffee and caramel. Medium-bodied and earthy with flavors of hops, toasted malt and smoke. The finish is carbonated and mildly bitter. All in all a decent Schwarz.

Another Kulbacher found in Mexico. Soft off-white head. very dark copper to brown. Dark nose with a hint of spiced chocolate, coffee and carbon. Black toffee licorice flavour sticks to the tongue. Lots of coffee, hint of molasses sweetness and bread. Hint of spiciness in the finish.

Dark copper colour allows a little light through. Quickly thinning light brown head. Light smoke aroma. Flavour starts out inviting and intriguing but drops off halfway down the tongue. Notes of brown sugar and smoke. Body is thin. Flavour is nice enough but thin and without depth.

Poured dark amber, some head, dissipating after two minutes. Medium dark malt aroma, crisp and light on the palate, quiet decaf and light choc finish. I would try this again.

A dark Amber/Ruby tinted beer with a beige head. Roasted malts and some cocoa and vegetal scents. Roasty flavors with slight malt sweetness and floral hops. I’m not a big Schwarz fan, but this is good!

Pours a almost dark red with a big white head. Aroma is kind of nutty with some smokyness in there. Flavor is malty and nutty carmel but also very thin, watery and bland. Its ok, very drinkable and smooth.
