| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2004 A ver respectable beer, my first in the style. Pours a deep brown/black color, nice tan head rests on top and lends great lacing. Aroma is of dark malts and decnt hops, and is almost like the aroma of a typical porter, only not as powerful. Flavor is initially sweet and malty, then dry and toasty, and ends light and grassy. Very interesting, fairly long flavor. Palate is slightly thin, and this beer comes off as a bit tart/acidic. leaparsons (4737), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2004 Dark brown in appearance. Aromas are light, sweet malts. Flavours are sweet and malty with some coffee roast notes. Has a dry finish but lacks real depth. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2004 Chestnut brown with frothy, quickly dissipating head. Roasted malty nose and flavor. A bit subdued. Crisp and easily drinkable. Cereal notes in body. Aldrighetti (162), Coltura, Italy
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2004 Deep brown colour, with a light brownish head. Full aroma of dark malt, clean nose of crushed roasted barley. Taste of "roasted barley coffee", bitterness comes from dark grain more than from hops. Finish dry. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2004 Dark red-brownish color. Sweet roasted aroma, with hints of raisins and malt. Smooth and gentle on the palate. Dry to tart in the aftertaste. A very nice beer but would love to have a fresher bottle. rauchbier (3000), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
