Poured a pleasant dark brown with a two finger off white head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Flavor had more roasted malt with a pleasant dry pine hops finish. A pleasant beer that was refreshing, if not a bit light. thejon375 (392), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Pitch black, 100% opaque with a nice tan head that leaves a good lacing. Aroma of concord grapes, a light smokiness, roasted malt and raisins. Light to Medium-bodied; water taste with some grapes and malt noticeable. Aftertaste shows some light fruit and not much else. Overall, more of a light german doppelbock-no smokiness at all, really. Good to try - thanks to Jon for picking this beer up!
