Draft (Der Braumeister - Cleveland OH). Poured a pleasant dark brown with a two finger off white head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Flavor had more roasted malt with a pleasant dry pine hops finish. A pleasant beer that was refreshing, if not a bit light.

Pours dark, big whiteish/tan head, aromas of roasted malts and molasses. Pretty much the same flavor and the finish was a little weak.

Draft (International Beer Garten - Lutz, FL). Pours a near pitch black color with a huge foam head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. The flavor is quite smooth and nicely balanced between the malts and hops. Good lingering aftertaste.

I wasnt expecting much out of this one but it surprised me. Dark brown with a nice tan head. Slight chocolaty caramel taste and finish. Smooth beer, very nice roasty malts.

Black with red-brown hues, with a huge creamy yet vanishing head. Aroma is dark malty, a bit fake and grainy, coffeish. Light bodied, bitter. Weak and really unimpressive

Swing top bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of coffee, carmel, roastiness and spicy hops. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of roastiness, coffee and hints of carmel and cocoa with a crisp lingering roasty bitter finish.

Pitch black, 100% opaque with a nice tan head that leaves a good lacing. Aroma of concord grapes, a light smokiness, roasted malt and raisins. Light to Medium-bodied; water taste with some grapes and malt noticeable. Aftertaste shows some light fruit and not much else. Overall, more of a light german doppelbock-no smokiness at all, really. Good to try - thanks to Jon for picking this beer up! I sampled this 500 mL bottle from JonR888710 23-June-2005 at Jon(R888710)’s.
