Aroma of concord grapes, a light smokiness, roasted malt and raisins. Light to Medium-bodied; water taste with some grapes and malt noticeable. Aftertaste shows some light fruit and not much else. Overall, more of a light german doppelbock-no smokiness at all, really. Good to try - thanks to Jon for picking this beer up! Passed this up for a year because of it’s price, finally I get to taste it. Quite dark but not as dark or as opaque as expected. Looks more like a lighter root beer or a dark iced tea. Ruff pour yeilds a big tan head. Very nice refreshing dark beer aroma, mouth watering. Good dirt dark flavors, little bitterness which is welcomed. Enjoyable to an extent and mild in its own way. Enough personality to be a dark beer yet lacks some of the oppressive personality that is so common with many darker brews. Leathery tastes in the background. Finish is tasty with a medium linger. Overall, not a bad darker beer. "

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 31, 2008 A thinly malty aroma. A nice cola like color with a decent foamy blonde head.
Taste is malty with little power for the palate. A bit watery and thin, but a decent taste.
A fair beer without being special. KimJohansen (7145), Copenhagen V, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 29, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours deep dark brown, unclear and with a slowly diminishing tan head. Aroma is mild breadish, dark malt and slight roasted. Flavour is classic malty, light roasted and not overly dark. Light hoppy spice touch. Light roasted and malty finish. A bit weak and simple in flavour compared to many other schwarzbiers.
