Commercial Description:
A beer specialty, just as it was brewed ages ago: top-fermented, with dark kilned barley malt and bitter-fresh hops. A unique taste, hearty and spicy. The old style beer with the genuine taste

On tap at Resi’s in Chicago. After many different glasses during a couple of weekends this was by far the favorite beer. Pours a medium caramel color with a nice off- white head. Aroma of caramel malts, rain fresh hops, slight yeast. Moderate sweet taste, caramel, with a compensating bitter hop follow. Very nice and my favorite at Resi’s.

Tap at Laschet’s. Very bock-like in taste. Malty and sweet. Some darkness pushing through, but tasty. Definitely had a sort of primal taste to it. Very much an alt in character.

Lovely copper color with a nice large white head. Nose is predominately of a light caramel maltiness. Flavor is fairly light, dominated by a moderately sweet caramel flavor, with a good dose of bitterness as well. Had it at the same spot as Muzzlehatch, oddly enough.

Dark brown black, filtered, some fizzy whitish head. Nose is roast, some sweet malts, and bittering hops. Taste is much of the same. Nice hint of nuttiness and spice at the end. Finishes clean and crisp. Sessionable.

On tap at Resi’s Bierstube, Chicago. Clear medium-brown body, medium lasting head. Slight butterscotch in the malty aroma, perhaps hints of nuts and vanilla as well. Flavor follows very similar to the nose, very smooth with a medium body and the aforementioned sweet flavor notes. MMM good.

Draught: This poured slightly darker than a brown ale and was topped by a short-lived, off-white head. The aroma is a slightly smokey, lightly roasted malt with a hint of some spiciness. Medium-to-light bodied, it’s quite a sweet alt. There’s a bit of a roasted flavor to it, but mainly it’s a light, sweet bready malt with some herbal bitterness added to balance it out. Not bad.
