KeithD (177), Outer Space, Congo Feb 5, 2008 Updated: Jun 26, 2008 I love Lowenbrau. What a wonderfully balanced German beer, hops and malt are in perfect harmony with a touch of crackers and slight bitterness giving this brew an outstanding drinkability. It’s easy to pound many Lowenbraus in one sitting. The label is the coolest, and this beer holds a special reverence for me personally as it was the first beer I ever tasted, back when I was like four years old. I hope they never try to change the label and make it all neo-trendy, like some other beers have been doing. That would be dumb. But yeah, Lowenbrau (pronounced "loo-ven-broy) kicks ass, and I wish it was more widely available. I will defend this beer until the day I die. This is the Lemmy Kilmeister of beers.
moseslikesbeer (152), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 7, 2008 bottle. Aroma of the green glass (skunky). Nice golden color with white head. Flavor of corn and no hops but it has some zest to it and my friend BeerGestapo is right...good with food. Not the worst beer ever but not the best Germany has to offer. gunnfryd (2651), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 4, 2008 Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, floral. Flavour is fruit, malt, floral, hint of hop. Ordinary beer. vikingbeercbus (14), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 28, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours clear light yellow, 1 inch bright white head, frothy. Nose of wheat, cereal, corn. Flavor typical. Definitely not worth the price. kidmartinek (644), austin, Texas, USA Jun 27, 2008 Clear yellow lager beer with moderate bubbling.. 1.5 inch white head lasting 1.5 minutes. Smells like corn. Tastes is dry slightly bitter, malty, a bit sweetness and like honeycomb cereal. Finish is bitter and wet. hopson (427), Williamsville, New York, USA Jun 27, 2008 bottle- not all that bad for what it is. Some malty substance here that goes beyond the normal corn cereal flavors found in american macro lagers. wouldnt go to again, but not god awful.
