Bottled. Dark amber, lively head. Buttery malt aroma, It’s well hopped with notes of grass, but it’s dominating feature is the soft, full, buttery malt character. It finishes with balanced, salty bitterness. A gem amongst French beers!

Thin head, glowing orange. Musty, sweet aroma laden with alcohol and sugar, orange peel. Taste is malty and sweet, fruity. Finish is oak, slightly dry. Medium to heavy body. A very fine beer, yet not quite agressive enough for me. Still good.

Couleur ambrée, examinant avec enthousiasme la dense formation d’une mousse blanchâtre et ultra-persistante. Levuré, donnant un ton métallique aux arômes qui réussissent brillement à nous transporter dans la brasserie même. À caractère très malté; foin, grains, empattage et doux caramel. I have been looking forward to this one- biere de garde is not a style that I am very familiar with, although is broadly similar to Ommegang’s Hennepin with which I am very familiar. This pours a frothy amber that produces the paerfect head that lasts and lasts, forming that little mountain of foam in the middle of the glass looking just like whipped egg whites. The aroma is rich with malt, fruit and subtle hops. The moutfeel is very smooth and the flavor balanced with slightly sweet malt flavors melding with fruity yeast esters and a balanced finish, neither too dry nor too sweet.

Excellent tufty white head. Lots of little floaties in suspension in the body of this beer. Impressive aroma: very fruity with a peach pie element. Flavor is even fruitier, with a classic bread (not bready in the sense that it’s usually used on this site) element in the malts used. Hops appear and manifest themselves in the stunningly smooth finish. This is a commendable product -- yet another "mirror to the past" from that great beer-producing part of the world. Perhaps the best beer I have ever had from a ... GREEN bottle!

Pours a reddish caramel with a huge white head. Aroma is of light cider, mild melon, and a slight hay, and a mild cardboard that detracted a bit. Flavor is of caramel, mild cider, mild tea, and soft floral slightly grassy hops. Everything about the flavor is soft. Even with this softness it is still flavorful and satisfying.

Very dry in both aroma and palate. Citrusy and floral, but slightly acidic. Mild metallic notes were detected with the first few sips and the alcohol is only noticed with the warming effect that it produces. Quite carbonated at first, but it mellowed after it had a chance to warm, very crisp and refreshing.

This orange colored farmhouse ale pours with a large fluffy tan head, eliciting a light hoppy aroma. The initial taste is slightly bitter with a fruity finish. The flavor is very hearty and satisfying.
