Commercial Description:
In the little town of Bavay, only a few miles from the border with Belgium, the Theillier family has crafted its fine bière de garde for generations. The charming brewery is built into the Theillier family home, which was constructed in the 1600’s on sturdy Roman foundations. La Bavaisienne is artfully brewed, in very small batches, using a resourceful combination of ancient and modern equipment.

Medium amber color with a nice head and lacing. Lightly hoppy and slightly fruity aroma, boring. Flavor is light. Slightly hoppy, light malt tones and hints of citrus fruit. Finish is stringent and unpleasing.

Bottle. Amber color with a bit of orange. Nice big fluffy white head. Aroma has hints of wheaty malt and fruit. It is nicely hopped and yeasty, but there's something I don't like about the hop in the finish that keeps it from being a really good beer.

Light bright copper color, light white head. The nose is sweet and organic, tart and fruity. Sweet straightforward malt body with a lot of alcohol present. Strong yeast and a moderately long finish. This beer didn't grab me like it did others. Okay, I just wasn't a big fan.

(750ml bottle) Thin, white, quick dissipating head and copper body. Nose of cereal, malt and milky rubbing alcohol. Brown sugar and hoppy smooth taste. Finishes too soon. Very good! Thanks Doug.

Glamorous yet mellow caramel covered by an amorous flowery countryside...Milk and cereal omnipotence delivers dried apricots...Cheese perfumes from the neighbour’s barn...Morning rises in Northern France with a touch of alcohol still in the back of the tongue, but plenty of merriment was had, that’s for sure...A spoonful of dusty and dry attic logevity meets the wealth of a thoughtul silence...
