Butters (427), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours an opaque purple-ish brown with massive bubbly tan head. Classic flanders sour brett aroma and flavor. Medium body with large carbonic prick. Actually, this is pretty spot on for what I expect from a sour ale, even though it’s not really my cup of tea. gam (580), brisbane, Australia Sep 28, 2008 Light tan head on a murky reddish brown ale with good carbonation.Aroma caramel, malt, wheat note, wine or brandy, plum.Flavour plum banana port wine, caramel, malt note of coriander, raisin, brown sugar.Smooth great tasting ale,so enjoyable, finish hoppy malty port full flavoured ale. alexanderj (1349), San Diego, California, USA Sep 8, 2008 Surprisingly, my favorite beer sample at Stone that day; aroma was very caramelly with fruit and cherries. Remined me a bit of Luden’s cough drops, in a good way. flavor was similar, and was slightly sweet with a good fruit/cherry flavor. golubj also gave it a 3.8, noting the sweet caramelly goodness and a very nice palate. hophead75 (1702), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Aug 11, 2008 small bottle. Hazy deep amber in color with a huge head, dissipates but the small head that’s left retains well. Aroma is full of brett, light sour cherry, caramel and spice. Initially the aroma is metallic but that subsides a bit. Taste is bretty, with light sour cherry in spots, caramel, light soap here and there, and light spice. Light to medium body, with only a faint hint of the alcohol in the finish. Not bad, but a bit oxidized.... WeeHeavySD (1877), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Aug 10, 2008 Tap @ Ebenezer’s Pub in Lovell Maine. I’ve seen this bottle a lot but didn’t really know what it would be when I ordered the glass and it was tasty. Pours dark amber with a tan ring. Nose is sweet. Taste is sweet and fruity with a touch of barleywine feel.
