Commercial Description:
energetic and full-bodied taste with sweetish pronounced tone, brown copper color and with a creamy foam of beige tonality, bouquet harmonious and elegant. Category "Belgian Strong Dark Ale", style "brown ale", this beer is produced with the method of the triple fermentation, means that it has three doses of malt more than the quantity used for other beers, added in three different phases of workmanship, like the last phase where the malt is directly put in the bottle or the keg.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very dark red with a frothy beige head which dissipates to leave moderate lacing. Aroma of cherries is more reminiscent of a lambic. The flavour is very fruity (a sour cherry flavour that has already been noted by other drinkers), but the dominant presence of alcohol makes it unbalanced. It is, however, nice on the palate, with pleasant tingling from the carbonation and warmth from the alcohol.

Pours cloudy dark red. A light flowery aroma which is laced with alcohol. Also picking up some sour cherries. A sip is initially quite chewy and sweet with sour cherry like flavour. The late middle and finish bring a huge dose of yeast. Medium to full bodied. It’s not bad... but it seems rather unbalanced. Update: The huge yeast edge seems to disappear somewhat after half the glass (warmth?). Gains a flavour point.

Great looking bottle. Aroma is full of fruit and the flavor follows suit. One of the fruitiest beers I have tried. Plenty of alcohol provides lots of warming. A great beer.

Pours out a reddish brown with a fairly thick tan head. Aroma coming off is fairly sweet but seemed balanced enough. One sip and I can tell this is going to be fairly typical Belgian Strong. Yeast, sweetness, spice, and a touch of hops. I will say this beer wasn’t as cloying as some of these Belgian Strongs can be so because of that this get some decent remarks. Not bad, not great.

(33 cl bottle from Systembolaget) Clear dark red color, sluffy cream colored head. Metallic and fruity estery scent. Smoke and sweet taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Bottled. Dark amber with a large, off-white head. Slightly metallic and also with some vegetable-notes. Too much alco-feel. Fancy bottle and appearance, but bland in flavour.

Bottle, thanks to larsniclas. Amber color, offwhite head. Roasted malt aroma. Malty flavor, chocolate and some bready notes. I expected more...
