Commercial Description:
energetic and full-bodied taste with sweetish pronounced tone, brown copper color and with a creamy foam of beige tonality, bouquet harmonious and elegant. Category "Belgian Strong Dark Ale", style "brown ale", this beer is produced with the method of the triple fermentation, means that it has three doses of malt more than the quantity used for other beers, added in three different phases of workmanship, like the last phase where the malt is directly put in the bottle or the keg.

A hazy dark brown ale with a thick moka head. Aroma of stewed prunes, alcohol, burned caramel and coriander. In mouth, a good caramel candy sugar, treacle, orange peels, prunes, licorice and alcohol wamth in finale. Some nice bitterness from the hops. Overall, this was a nice honest sipping beer. Bottle from LCBO gift pack, BB 17-05-07

Draft. Dark reddish mahogony beer with a light tan head. Light yeasty, malty aroma. malty, craamel, woodsy, yeasty flavors. A bit of residual sweetness. Lingering sweet malt and woodsy yeast. Medium body. Alcohol well hidden.

330ml bottle at Belgian Beer Café, Sydney. Big rich aroma pakced with plenty of chocolate, caramel, raisin, dark fruits and spice. Pours a murky dark bornw body with a dense off-white head. Creamy mouthfeel to it, flavour is richly sweet and delicious. Plenty of dark fruit flavours, chocolate, raisins, rich caramel and a hint of spice towards the finish. It begs for another sip. I really liked this one, definately my kind of beer.

11.2 oz. appears cloudy, muddy, and much like 10W-30...thick. aromas of odd butterscotch and caramel and THICK maple syrup, but not to the extent where the malts dominate; hop character was present as well. taste dark, creamy caramel with notes of butter and heavy cream. nice body. other tasting notes were of tea and oatmeal. finish was of avg length and very much resembles oats.

This Belgian Strong Ale pours a cloudy medium brown color from a ceramic 33cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, banana and sweet. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet, lots of banana and esters. Brown sugar, raisins, plums and molasses flavors. Bright yeasts. Lively carbonation. Nice beer, quite shippable. Perhaps a touch sweet, but a very nice smooth tasting beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a slight touch of bitterness at the end.

On tap at the Pianeta Birra, Rimini, Italy.
Nice copper/ruby coloured, small beige head, sweet candy nose. The aroma is roasted malty and fruity (raisins, lemon, peach and plum) with too sweet caramel, toffee and strong molasses notes. Not so strong for a 9%ABV but a way too sweet.

330mL bottle. Translucent dark orange-brown with a massive light brown rocky head. Fusel alcohol with dark alefruit and doughy caramel in the aroma. Figgy dark alefruit, raisin malt flavor. Slight herbal tone manifests with ruddy, syrupy caramel. Higher alcohol finish with lingering alefruit and a doughy, yeasty presence. Mouthfeel is a slightly heavy medium, somewhat hot.
