Commercial Description:
energetic and full-bodied taste with sweetish pronounced tone, brown copper color and with a creamy foam of beige tonality, bouquet harmonious and elegant. Category "Belgian Strong Dark Ale", style "brown ale", this beer is produced with the method of the triple fermentation, means that it has three doses of malt more than the quantity used for other beers, added in three different phases of workmanship, like the last phase where the malt is directly put in the bottle or the keg.

Bottle. Reddy brown body with a creamy off white head. (3+) Sweet dark caramel and burnt candy sugars in the aroma carry over to the flavour, which is quite sweet with plent of sugars and malt throughout. Sort of a generic Belgian, but quite pleasantly so! Medium palate.

The aroma is heavy with dark fruit, yeast, toffee, and spices. The appearance is dark red brown with a very large foamy head. The flavor has plums, figs, raisins, cloves, and brown sugar. The alcohol is very assertive as well. The palate is typical for the style. Very nice ale.

No head to speak of but good thick lacing. Murky reddish brown in the glass, plenty of ‘floaties’. Strong nose, high powered dark malts, gives a slightly cooked feel. Beer steps up a gear in the mouth, powerful malts, hints of sweetness, some alcohol evident in the flavours. Nice earthy, savoury, pongy malts. Sipping style.

This is what a Belgium beer should like.A rich combination of malt and sweet hops. Taste of brandy, toffee, and floral arrangement. very tasty

Bottle at Den Tatoverede Enke, RBESG Pub Crawl, August 2005. Well sweet, with toffee and treacle to the fore. There’s some underlying orange zest on the palate, but its well submerged and the whole thing is rather too sticky for me.

330ml white bottle. Pours chestnut brown, sizable foamy tan head, some lacing. Malt aroma with brown sugar. Flavour is sweet dark malt, some spice, alcohol and a bit of nutty malt. Medium body, average carbonation. Alcohol notes in the finish with more sugar and malt notes.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy bubbly ruby with a large lasting foamy off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, fruit, yeast and hops. Flavour of sweet caramel malt, fruit, spices, a hint of chocolate, too much alcohol and a somewhat harsh aftertaste. Medium bodied. This is just O.K.

Very deep brown pour with an uber thick head. Warm spicy scent that gives a slight burn in the nose. Strong taste with spices that burn on the tongue. Some chocolat made its way in the taste. Smells like booze more then beer. Really good overall.
