Commercial Description:
energetic and full-bodied taste with sweetish pronounced tone, brown copper color and with a creamy foam of beige tonality, bouquet harmonious and elegant. Category "Belgian Strong Dark Ale", style "brown ale", this beer is produced with the method of the triple fermentation, means that it has three doses of malt more than the quantity used for other beers, added in three different phases of workmanship, like the last phase where the malt is directly put in the bottle or the keg.

(33cl bottle) Pours a huge, almonde-coloured head with a deep ruby body. The nose is smelly - buttery, cheese and a tad of fig. The flavour is more potent than the aroma - cherry cough syrup, prunes and whiskey. Subtle and bland

Another good effort by this brewing group. Very yeast-heavy, with dried fruit, plum, raisin, dates predominating. Bit of nuttiness as well. Could use some stronger bittering to help balance the very strong sweetness, but pretty drinkable.

bottle. pours a dark brown-orange body with a medium frothy tan head that persists for some time. aroma is big with yeasty cheese notes, plums, cherry, chocolate, and rye bread. starts out with a big punch of alcohol and sugary sweetness. yeasty and effervescent mouthfeel. very rich caramel and bread flavours. pretty solid sipping BSA.

(Rating #397)

Dark ruby, cloudy body. Off-white, medium-sized smooth head, moslty lasting, some lace left on the glass. Aroma is malty with dark fruits and spicy hops. Very smooth mouthfeel, with caramel sweetness, hints of curaçao, licorice. Full bodied with a dry finish. A very good beer that could become excellent with a bit more depth.

Deep reddish-orange, nicely lacing off-white head. Cementy, dryish plaster/alabaster stale yeast derived scents that I can only associate with the construction industry are not entirely out of place in the estery dark fruits, cherry and apple peel like aroma. Growing red apple skin character in mouth fights flavour dominance with curacao and dried apricot. Dull enveloping yeastiness. Highly mineral palate, sweetish light-medium body, quite airy and mildly sulfury, certainly quite metallic. Some hops would definitely be welcomed to shadow a bit those repetitive off-yeast notes.

crafted malt, with some sour darkness, aggressively carbonated, perhaps from being very fresh (November 2005). Cool painted over bottle. Nice dark rum colour. Different malts waft on head and boozy. Smooth drink though to be sipped, molasses and warming, a touch of yeast.
