Brune ruby, petit collet. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2008 Muddy brown with a gigantic three-finger head that lasted forever, finaly dissipating to a strong thick film, but just ordinary lacing. Aromas of dark sugar, caramel, figs and plums were complex, but not strong. Flavors were similar, but came on a bit stronger. Plums and cherries were dominant, with caramel and burnt sugar also present. Alcohol was evident, but not a feature of this beer. Full bodied, lots of lively carbonation, and pleasantly sweet fruits in the aftertaste. Terrific beer for a cold winter night. wilderthanyou (423), Guelph, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a big foamy creamy beige head that has excellent retention. The aroma is sweet, brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits, and alcohol. The flavour is a pretty good reflection of the aroma, with a sweet brown sugar maltyness being the most prominent, with lighter notes of dark fruits, cherry and raisin. Mouth feel is a touch watery but all and all a pretty decent beer, but far from the best of the Belgian ales. ska (129), Italy

Classic flanders sour brett aroma and flavor. Medium body with large carbonic prick. Actually, this is pretty spot on for what I expect from a sour ale, even though it’s not really my cup of tea. gam (1116), brisbane, Australia

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Surprisingly, my favorite beer sample at Stone that day; aroma was very caramelly with fruit and cherries. Remined me a bit of Luden’s cough drops, in a good way. flavor was similar, and was slightly sweet with a good fruit/cherry flavor. golubj also gave it a 3.8, noting the sweet caramelly goodness and a very nice palate.
