The honey is entirely dominant and overhangs everything about this beer. Initially, I found the aroma pleasant but the honey isn’t too well integrated with the other elements and overwhelmed the palate after a while. Trying to get a handle on anything else underlying the honey became a real struggle. The mouthfeel got somewhat cloying. Too one dimensional for me.

Odd palate, sticky/sweet, yet dry at the same time. Sticky almosty chewy sugar honey character. This just wasn’t my type of beer at all, i’m not a huge honey fan either. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 29, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Comes as "Berenbier" in this version. Hazy, orangey golden with a decent and rather dense head. Lightly perfumy flavours and a bit sticky. Light bitter finish. A nice, complex strong lager if not exactly the most sophisticated honey beer. 310398 lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Very livey beer with faint cloudy rim and with an outstanding big white head. The aroma is dry and has hints of fresh fruit and flowers. It also has hints in the nose of green prunes and wet birch-wood. The taste is sweeter that expected, it has a full boddied caracter with a smooth malty mouthfeel. In the taste there is a very nice honeyed aspect with a nice touch of sweet cookies and butter caramels. In the aftertaste you can notice some touche of flower pollen, butter-cakes and a well integrated slaight bitterness. Original beer with a good balance and a great refreshing carbonation in the end. At the Kulminator in Antwerp.
