Commercial Description:
A honey beer that never lets you forget the fact. Although there is only a slight trace of it in the nose the intensity of the honey in the palate may be a bit much for some people. This is an accomplished beer that oozes quality yet retains a small brewery taste. Also sold as Berenbier in Flanders.

Bottle. [Courtesy of Storm] Average frothy white head that mostly diminished. Cloudy body with light particles in flow. Golden color. Aroma of caramel, grain, Belgian yeast, citrus, clove, coriander and lots of honey. Medium bodied with a sticky texture and an average carbonation. Moderated sweet honey flavor with light bitter and acidic notes. Sweet honey finish.

Bottled at Loch Ness, Stockholm. Cloudy deep golden, rich head. Aroma of honey and vegetables. Sweet with restrained fruitiness and rounded mouthfeel. Near full bodied. Honey dominates the flavour, accompanied by warming alcohol and pilsnerish malt. Absolutely no bitterness.

This pours a slightly hazed yellow body with a large, fluffy white head. The aroma is mildly spicy and has a soapy yeastiness to it. Some peachy fruitiness makes an appearance after the head settles a bit and finally a hint of honeycombs. Light bodied, it tastes of sweet pale malt, alcohol, fruit, and and a quiet floral bitterness that lasts into the finish. Actually light and refreshing for a beer with a strong ABV.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Hazy golden colour with white head. Some yeast and sweetness on the nose. Taste nowhere as honeylike as I anticipated, but it was there I found the yeastyness and a subtle spiciness to be just as prevalent, this was fine but not great.

33cl bottle from Noel Cuveliers. Gold, thin white head. Some fruit, some Dutch cheese, bit Edamy. Bit thin in mouth. Not the best strong golden Belgian, not enough flavour.

Re-rate: On tap at Beiaard. Yellow, corny. Spicy with honey. But not sweet honey taste. More dull and bitter. Good. Not great. #500!! Bottle at home. Quite the honey. Orange, yeasty colour. Spicy, sweet aroma. Prickly, peachy and sugary taste. Fruity, textured flavours. Smooth and very enjoyable. 3.3/5
