Creamy, off-white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit, spices, sweetness and honey. Fruity flavor with some alcohol, spices, sugar and hops. Lightly warming, and a sticky, full body. Long, sweet finish, with hops and spices. Nice beer, but a bit too sweet. (060701) Lubiere (4551), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

In aroma, a doughy oxidized malt , with light notes of orange peels and sweet honey. In mouth, same. A rather sweet malt with light cardboard, with doughy character, and light alcohol. Nose reveals a smooth and rich honey, yeast and moderately hoppy aroma. There is also a hint of chestnut and notes that, surprisingly, remind of dark malts - both probably coming from the honey. Initially sweetish taste with a gentle touch of honey, dries up quickly and finishes grassy with a long, dry, herbal aftertaste. Relatively thin body, light sparkling, dry finish. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Bottle. Vegetable aroma. Golden colour, small white head. Tastes like any average blonde with some vegetable and a very small hint of honey. Not spicy and a little boring. Get a bit more flavourful and cloudier toward the bottom of the bottle. anders37 (4774), Malmö, Sweden

Seems to be a lot of these floating around PA now, since I bought a botlte same vintage last month at candlewyck. Definitely has an old musty aroma and flavor- modest oxidation all around. Pours a mostly hazy "honey" color, and almost no head. Slightly sweet taste, but turns astringent in the end. Probably not the type of beer that was supposed to be aged in the first place. Could be nice if fresh I bed. dornoy (681), Lyngby, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2006 Frothing white head on a hazy golden body. The honey makes this beer very smooth and drinkable, lots of fruity hints. A pleasure to drink, with some bitterness but not too much.
