Commercial Description:
A honey beer that never lets you forget the fact. Although there is only a slight trace of it in the nose the intensity of the honey in the palate may be a bit much for some people. This is an accomplished beer that oozes quality yet retains a small brewery taste. Also sold as Berenbier in Flanders.

Bottled. It volcanoed out of the bottle. Sparkling, orange, and with lots of small floaties. Creamy, off-white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit, spices, sweetness and honey. Fruity flavor with some alcohol, spices, sugar and hops. Lightly warming, and a sticky, full body. Long, sweet finish, with hops and spices. Nice beer, but a bit too sweet. (060701)

Hazy golden ale with a thick creamy white head. In aroma, a doughy oxidized malt , with light notes of orange peels and sweet honey. In mouth, same. A rather sweet malt with light cardboard, with doughy character, and light alcohol. The bottle was BB 10/05. From JM in BC. Merci.

33 cl bottle, ’bbe’ April 07. Almost clear golden, topped with a frothy, fluffy white head. Nose reveals a smooth and rich honey, yeast and moderately hoppy aroma. There is also a hint of chestnut and notes that, surprisingly, remind of dark malts - both probably coming from the honey. Initially sweetish taste with a gentle touch of honey, dries up quickly and finishes grassy with a long, dry, herbal aftertaste. Relatively thin body, light sparkling, dry finish.

Very good honey beer. The taste of honey in itself is less present than i expected but add a nice finish. Sweet floral and honey aroma.

Bottle. Vegetable aroma. Golden colour, small white head. Tastes like any average blonde with some vegetable and a very small hint of honey. Not spicy and a little boring. Get a bit more flavourful and cloudier toward the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white head. Sweet malty aroma with some hints of honey. Sweet malty flavor with some nice taste of honey. Sweet malty aftertaste with some bitterness.

Yup ’96 bottle. Seems to be a lot of these floating around PA now, since I bought a botlte same vintage last month at candlewyck. Definitely has an old musty aroma and flavor- modest oxidation all around. Pours a mostly hazy "honey" color, and almost no head. Slightly sweet taste, but turns astringent in the end. Probably not the type of beer that was supposed to be aged in the first place. Could be nice if fresh I bed.

Frothing white head on a hazy golden body. The honey makes this beer very smooth and drinkable, lots of fruity hints. A pleasure to drink, with some bitterness but not too much.
