Commercial Description:
Available with two labels - Blonde in Wallonia and Fakir in Flanders and Canada. Though it is also relabelled as La Molagnarde Blonde. This is a particularly good blonde beer with lots of strong, clean citric hop character throughout. The orange peel that is included amongst the ingredients tends to only come through in the nose. We find this beer is great when served straight from the fridge as a little of the freshness is lost as it warms up.

Served at Stella’s on commercial drive in Vancouver. Must have had a good bottle because this beer was fantastic for me. Golden yellow-orange color with billowing off-white head. Aroma of sweet citrus, bread and honey. Flavors of apricots, orange, honey, yeast and understated spice and grains finishing clean and refreshing.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy blond beer with lasting quick thick beige head. Bit of puke on aroma. A lot better in mouth, with some decent lightness to the malts. And then some ok hop on finish. Still, not the greatest blond in the world. Ok.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye cork says #4191. Nice gold pour with a cream head that dissipates to a ring quite fast. Nose is heavy on yeast, dried fruits and some slight musk. Light on the palate with a musk flavor that is backed by spices and fruit. Clean finish and well carbonated.

75cl bottle from Mr. Dunderbaks (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy golden caramel color with a thick and foamy two finger white head that settles slowly and laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of bread, yeast, wheat, grain, honey, citrus, some hints of spice. Flavor is sweet and floral with caramel malt, lemon, citrus, honey, spice and fruit notes. Generally light to medium body with a pleasing malt finish.

Bottle served at the Publick House. Looks beautiful - golden color and fluffy white head. Aroma is yeasty and backed by citrus aromas. Not overpowering, but pleasant. Flavor is consistent with the aroma. Like many good blondes - it’s wonderful while you’re enjoying it but then the impression doesn’t seem to linger very long.

In short: A dry-dusty Belgian blonde ale. Nothing great, nothing bad. Easy to drink, easy to forget.
How: Bottle 330ml. Age unknown but consumed before best-before date.
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a persistent small white head
In long: Nose is yeasty with spicy notes of coriander and oranges. The taste is rather dry with a malt profile that I’d describe as dry salad croutons along with a strong dusty and minerals character. Under this dusty dryness are orange peels, citrus and a little honey/caramel sweetness. Spicy notes of coriander and powder ginger. Pickling carbonation. Astringent dryness with no tartness. Dry powder yeast sensation. Bland but not offensive and very drinkable. As memorable as a TV test pattern.

On tap at Eulogy, Philadelphia 18-11-08 and called Busty Blonde. This beer had the most wonderful honeycomb nose, really nice waxy comb scent coming off the beer, mmhhhh.. The beer pours a lemony yellow with a white fluffy head. Taste is funky, fruity and yeasty, its not earth shattering but it’s a nice beer. A7 A4 F7 P3 OV13 3.4

33 cl, bottled 12/08/08. Burnt orange with small debris throughut. Half-inch of lasting cream that smears the glass. Mild aromas of spiced pear and apples, with some brown sugar sprinkled on top. Taste is similar, but with a more assertive dry-spiciness than the aroma indicates. A strong aftertaste of citrus and resin develops after a bit. Light-medium body is watery, fizzy-airy and almost astringently dry.
