Commercial Description:
Available with two labels - Blonde in Wallonia and Fakir in Flanders and Canada. Though it is also relabelled as La Molagnarde Blonde. This is a particularly good blonde beer with lots of strong, clean citric hop character throughout. The orange peel that is included amongst the ingredients tends to only come through in the nose. We find this beer is great when served straight from the fridge as a little of the freshness is lost as it warms up.

poured from an 11.2oz bottle into a goblet A: Pours with very little head, but a whole ton of floating yeast or protein globs, for lack of a better term. A golden straw-like color, the beer is about as murky and cloudy as I’ve ever seen. Virtually no lacing. Not very appealing. S: Lots of fruity yeast, mainly banana, some bubblegum, balanced out somewhat by a nicely malted backbone. A bit of caramel too. And finally what seems to be a mildly tart-like apple or pear aroma. Not bad. T/M: A nice big burst of lemongrass and citrus up front, short sugar cookie middle, and a quick drying finish. Very highly carbonated, true to many Belgian styles. Pretty good, just not amazingly so. D: It’s honestly not too bad, would probably make for a decent session-style ale, provided you can get past the enormous amount of floating yeasties.

Bottled. Orange colour with small particles floating around, mediumsized off-white head, which disappears into a thin layer in a while. Nicely lacing. Aroma is grass, citrus fruits, some yeast and some very mild rubbery notes. Flavour is citrusfruits, some grass, mild hay and earth. Mouthdrying palate, as well as a quite crisp carbonation.

Bottle poured a cloudy yellow with a small lingering white head. Aromas of straw, yeast and citrus. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of straw, bread, citrus and light yeast with a crisp lightly bitter citrus finish.
Not a bad beer but certainly not worth the price.

Bottle. Aroma of bread and hop. Orange tinged gold color with a respectable white head that did a bit of lacing. Near full bodied with mild creamy carbonation. The flavor is spice, hop and fruit. It seems complex. Yeast, bread, spice and hop move around. The finish is dry, citric and lightly bitter. It is just delicious.

Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a lovely foamy head with great retention and a great barnyard-yeast & hop aroma. Tastes great at first - nice malting and a blast of fresh hops, but it blurs into a tinny thin stale-hop finish with a mild, somewhat redeeming spicy malt note. Body is light and creamy with adequate carbonation but a thin and lacking mouthfeel. Very drinkable but needs more character.

Tasted in Vancouver. 330ml bottle. Appearance is cloudy straw like yellow. Little or no head. Arom has yeasty bread-like scent, some honey. Flavour is muted, slightly sweet, malty, bread with a citrus like background.

Slightly above average blonde to me, certainly I feel a tad better than the average rating. Big body, medium mouthfeel. Aroma is heavily citric with some banana to mellow it, and the taste carries this through, with a bit more of a dry finish than you’d expect (given how creamsicle things get at times). Solid stuff.
