Pours murky dark brown with no clarity and a medium head. Just your basic beautiful Belgian pour. Aroma is strong with a hit of lightly syrupy, raisin sweet, slightly spiced, black bread. Its got airiness of a Belgian yeast as well. Its strong and a bit young, just can tell its a bit too aggressive. I feel like this aroma will come together even better with time. Taste is again lightly syrupy sweet with a lightly empty raisin flavor. Just seems to be a bit lacking with a slightly thinner body. Ends with a stale, lightly empty aftertaste. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway

Roasted malts and spices aroma. Somewhat perfumey taste with roasted malts in the background. On the spicy side, but still highly drinkable. gwpom (253), Akron, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2008 This comes out to me exactly as stated on the label, Artisinal Brown Ale. A dark brown, with a cream colored head that lasts, tasting of fruit and caramel and all the other things I associate with Belgian beer. While not spectacular, certainly drinkable with a good 8.2% kick. thehurt01 (208), Denver, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 23, 2008 33cl bottle. Good beer but not a great Belgian. Better than average but lacked real complex characteristics. Pours cloudy brown with a chocolate milk head. Pretty normal dubbel but maybe a little thin. Easy to drink and probably a good entry beer for trying the dubbel style. BoBoChamp (1432), Gent, Belgium
