Indra (1845), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Sep 22, 2003 Sweet, lightly bready and toffeeish aroma, some faint milk chocolate, with strong citrusy, spicy overtones of orange peel, coriander and anise. Deep, opaque red-brown in color, with a lasting, very creamy light tan head. The first thing on the palate is a hoppy and roasty bitterness, oddly, gradually revealing the lightly sugary, dark malt, licorice and orange citrus. Finishes dry, peppery, spicy, fruity and with a bit of astringency. Brash and unusual character, and possibly belonging equally to the Spice/Herb/Vegetable category.
thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway Sep 20, 2008 From bottle at Creperie Bretonne, Louvain-la-Neuve. Dark brown with a small tan head. Roasted malts and spices aroma. Somewhat perfumey taste with roasted malts in the background. On the spicy side, but still highly drinkable. gwpom (200), Akron, New York, USA Sep 14, 2008 This comes out to me exactly as stated on the label, Artisinal Brown Ale. A dark brown, with a cream colored head that lasts, tasting of fruit and caramel and all the other things I associate with Belgian beer. While not spectacular, certainly drinkable with a good 8.2% kick. thehurt01 (135), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 19, 2008 The aroma is light carmel and toasted malt. the look is a clear dark brown with a big cream head. the flavor roasted malt with a mild spicy orange. the beer coates your mouth a little and the carbonation is a little low. jaghana (14), Strasbourg, France Aug 17, 2008 Head is very small but deep, smells as fruits for me mostly cherry maybe apricot. The taste is quite sweet, the finish is long remains a yeast aroma, nice beer.
Lord_Corkscrew (600), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy Aug 1, 2008 Buona birra della Binchoise presa in 3 all’Exultate; un po’ difficile da finire però eh... dovevo guidare e ne ho bevuta poca però ne ho già piene le palle.
