Commercial Description:
Speciale Noel could only be a Christmas beer. It is a classic, warming winter ale with plenty of depth and a roasted, fruity malt character.

(Bottled, re-rate@home) Hazy orange color with a small head. Very fruity, yeasty and slightly sour, earthy boysenberry aroma with rose leaves. Extremely fruity, slightly yeasty, even port-wineous flavor with berries and some cardboard hints. Medium-bodied, quite smooth-carbonated palate. Hides the ABV very well. A very nice, balanced and fruity brew - not christmasy, for sure - but who cares :)

A bit hazy nut brown, good creamy tanned head, lots of lace. Aroma has malts, wet ashy leaves. fruits and is very earthy. Also flavor is earthy, grassy hops and malts. Hides ABV very well. Quite interesting beer though not very christmas like.

Hazy dark orange/brown colour with a thinnish off white head. Zesty aroma of fruit and yeast. Very nice complex flavour; sweet (honey), oranges, roasted malts. Full bodied with high carbonation. Interesting and very good.

Bottle pours an almost reddish amber with a real nice head and some residual lace. The aroma is of muted fruit and yeast. The flavor is sweet, various fruit notes, and nice and yeasty. The palate is rich and cleansing, great with some Blue Cheese I was eating at the time. Overall, this is a pretty good Belgian Strong Ale. I’m glad I tried it.

The appearance is a darker orange. Head is thin and off white. The aroma is fruity with strawberries and roses. Lots of carbonation in the mouthfeel. The taste has honey and oranges. The aroma is pretty amazing, but the flavor doesn’t quite measure up.

Deep Amber. Solid aroma of tartness, green & red apples, cinnamon, dark fruits, caramel and peach. Less than inspiring flavor profile. Lemons, various fruits, mainly orange and honey. Finishes dry, sweet and yeasty. Body is a little too thin and this is a little too sweet for me.

When I opened this one up the fist thing to hit me was the almost perfect nose, heavenly, smells like crushed angels.Sweet malty and cake like nose. The Taste is fine.Malt, fruit cake, raisin, and vanilla. This beer has some alcohol bite to it.The middle is woody or earthy, the finish slowly drys out and with pepper and cloves moving away from sweet. Smooth ans slick on the tongue to start but really drys out in the finish. I don’t think I would have more then one in a night, but this was a good beer to start the end of a crappy workday with.

Ommegang fest 2004. Bottle. Light brown orange ale with a sweet brown sugar aroma. Vanilla fudge and alcohol warmth coming through. Licorice finish. 6-3-8-4-14
June 14 2006, Hazy orange brown ale with a thick collapsing off white head, leaving a lacing cream. A creamy vailla aroma with more oranges, cloves. In mouth, a good maderized malt with light licorice, orange peels, and light surranated hops. Medium bodied. 8-3-8-3-14
