JoeMcPhee (3899), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Feb 24, 2004 Updated: Jan 7, 2005 Wow! Orange-brown colour, slightly cloudy with a nice off-white head. Huge smell of ginger, raisin, bubble gum, and a fair amount of alcohol. I also get some sort of tree resin, cedar or juniper, but I can’t quite tell which. More subtle notes include nutmeg and other warm spices. Taste is quite bready and yeasty, fairly sweet with huge candi sugar taste followed by rich maltiness and a very long raisin and apricot finish. Very rich tasting and quite warming. Simply awesome! I drank the end ten minutes ago and I can still taste it.
CaryTheDude (489), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Nov 21, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Wow, people are crazy about this brew. I’m not that into it. Fruitiness, yes, But lacks awesomeness. Still very drinkable. It’s aight. drfabulous (800), Columbia, Missouri, USA Nov 18, 2008 Lots of light flavors. Fruity. Typical spices and coriander. White head. Ok all around. fordest (1857), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Nov 18, 2008 750 ml bottle shared. Bast one of the night. Super fruity. Apple cherry, grape. Lots of fruit all the way around. Sweet finish and pretty darn good MrRomero (1913), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Nov 2, 2008 750ml bottle: poured cloudy orange with a thick off white head. Mild caramel aroma, very mild. Not much aroma to speak of. Flavor is malty with a bit of sweetness but not a whole lot. Moderate fruitiness. Not a whole lot going on here really. chimaybier (40), Livermore, California, USA Oct 17, 2008 750 ML bottle purchased at Raja Liquors in Livermore, CA. The pour: golden caramel, with a large bubbled head that collapsed somewhat quickly due to its alcohol content. Bouquet: yeastiness, caramel, spiciness. The entry: heavy mailtiness that just envelops the whole mouth with a maltinessbalanced with a spicy fruitiness at the same time. The finish (aftertaste)- maltiness, caramel. Enjoyed with tacos spiced with Dave’s Ultimate Insanity hot sauce! Praise GOD for this one!
