Chia (32), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Jul 29, 2008 This one blew its load upon opening. poured a large head(what was left) and has a beautiful cloudy amber color. Its aroma contains strong hints of sour apple and fruit. The instant metallic flavor tells me that this bottle is infected which is a shame because of its promising qualities. .
bb (2236), Martinez, California, USA Oct 27, 2008 Bottle. Richer amber beer with a nice big cream colored head. yeasty, malty aroma with slight apple/pear. Caramel and yeast flavor with light earth and light spice. Medium body. High carbonation. Caramel, yeast, and earth linger. Borresteijn (672), Amstelveen, Netherlands Oct 5, 2008 Bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of sour fruits, a bit champagne-like. Flavour is sweet at first, a bit spicy, caramel, but becomes sour towards the finish. Slightly alcoholic finish. Sharp prickly mouthfeel. Didn’t like the sourness in this one. mike1977ok (373), Netherlands Aug 22, 2008 Very lively, bursts out of the bottle. Slightly cloudy red-brown colour. A little bit of sweetness and maltiness in the flavour. BillKismet (1476), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 18, 2008 Beautiful, august, orange amber with a tornado of vigorous carbonation feeding a lush head. This brew is a superb example of the style. Enjoyable yeasty and phenolic notes with medium-bodied amber malts in aroma and flavor. Notes of alcohol accent and flatteringly complement the yeast and malt flavors. Well crafted from start to finish. This makes for a great session Belgian style ale. Homer321 (120), Rockledge, Florida, USA Aug 10, 2008 pours a nice amber color with a slight haze. taste is very boring, not much going on from the malts. slight alcohol warming and a background bitterness. overall, wasn’t that impressed.
