durhambeer (397), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 26, 2008 My, this was a tasty surprise... 11.2 oz bottle poured into Duvel glass. Brown/amber pour, which makes sense as this smelled closer to a Flemish red but tasted closer to a Belgian brown. Sour oaky aromas with some light tart cherry and candied sugar notes as well. Yeast and malt also present but both show up more on the tongue. Slightly salty. Also some nice earthy notes. Pleasant light mouthfeel and hides the 9% dagerously well. This beer feels slightly underrated. I will certainly drink this again.
