alexsdad06 (688), Ohio, USA Aug 4, 2008 Botlle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a medium sized off white head with decent retention. The aroma had a little sweet/sour thing going with slight yeast, and apples. The flavor has some malt, slight sourness, apples, and citrus. The finish leans to the dry side with a touch of spice. Easy drinking.
blklab2007 (600), Connecticut, USA Nov 20, 2008 bottle poured into a trappist glass has an orange caramel color and a thin white head. visible carbonation is high actually pushing at the surface creating a lovely swirl of white froth. aroma has orange peel, light citrus, musty funky yeast, pollen, candy sugar, and some pepper. mouth feel is light but frothy with the carbonation almost at a champagne level. flavor has some funky yeast, light clove, candy sugar, slight sourness, and some honey like pollen. citrus and fruit are there but not as prevalent as the aroma led on. mild on a lot of the flavors but the combination is right on. fata2683 (222), APO, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 bottle pours hazy deep yellow with a beautiful white head. Aroma is citrousy. Lemon and grapefruit, almost sour, slightly boozy, very inviting. Taste starts mildly sweet like a limade because it turns sour. The mouth turns crisp and rounds out dry and bitter. I definatly get some lemon, and again some light booze, but it’s all balanced out so well with the bittering hops. Very good! drfabulous (800), Columbia, Missouri, USA Nov 18, 2008 More pronounced sugar than other Belgians. Nice overall. Sweet. Doesn’t amaze, but good overall. sebletitje (579), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 25, 2008 On tap at OTH.
Pours blonde, white head.
Aroma, yeasty (barnyard/cheese), wheat with some fruity notes.
Taste, lots of sweetness close to honey, yeast, some nice floral hops and subtle mix of spices.
Beer is an easy drinker, still complex enough to be enjoyed and appreciated. A light bitter hoppy finish.
Have yet to get anything from Caracole that is not of high quality. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 13, 2008 Bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy orange gold with thin beige head. Belgian fruity yeast aroma. Quite a few esters, fruity and just a touch of puke. An oddly perfumed blond. Lots of character, stands out. Some soft hop but still quite aggressive on the end. It’s fine. An interesting beer.
