| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 8, 2009 With a taste and smell of old and stinky cheese, this beer should not impress anyone who is not french. It has a little sour sting and ends very dry. Nothing about this is pleasant, the worst part being a bottle that reads "called the ’small stupid bottle’ in honor of the many Americans that purchase it."

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 7, 2009 On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a hazy, radiant golden body with a thin and delicate, very fluffy, white head that leaves a light lacing. Very nice aroma of bready malts and banana. Nice touch of corriander spice and a flowery hoppiness. Distinct Belgium yeast aroma, but not the "strong ale" aroma I was expecting. Nice. Very mellow, but abundant in aroma and flavor. Moderate citrus sweetness and doughy maltiness balance very well with the touch of corriander spicing and sharp flowery European hop. Lingers with a malty sweetness and a light bitterness. Rich and full bodied with a slight tingle to it. Overall, a fantastic beer. Not over the top and full of wonderful flavor. Extremely pleased. Bartzilla (445), San Diego, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 5, 2009 How have I gone this long without rating this? I know I’ve had it many times, but for all intents and purposes, let’s say I had this on draft at Blind Lady Ale House. It’s the dictionary definition of a Belgian strong. Pungent, warm on the chest and a tasty sipper. Nice and yeasty and a near perfect example of the style. I endeavor to have several more of these soon.
