| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2008 This beer is good as it poured a yellow orange with the same color head. You can smell the orange and coriander and tastes them also. The after taste is a little bitter, probably the right amount. Lastly there is a little carmel with the citrus. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2008 A little gushing action upon opening. Poured a cloudy gold with a white pillow head. Smells of oranges with a little spice, just a little alcohol and a very slight metallic scent. Tastes like a loaf of bread with a slight banana flavor. Just a little alcohol on the back yet. An amazing beer. I’ve had La Chouffe previously where there was a little skunkiness. This bottle is perfect, though. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Very complex aroma of sweet marshmallow apple wine and several spices. Sweet orange pastry flavor with multiple spices, mild spicy bitterness in back. Medium body and carbo. A very complex beer, and delicious too. A little spicy for my taste. I don’t like a bitter spice, is it nutmeg? Still, an excellent challenging yet refreshing and light beer. oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty, hoppy, yeasty. Flavor is moderately sweet, highly alcoholic, with a nice hop bite to it. I expected more hop action. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

The nose feels creamy with notes of wheat, clover honey, some orange and other citrus fruits, and finally blond biscuit malt. The body is not as smooth as expected, orange and lemon zesty citrus and honey with a nice supporting malt and a finish of pepper and spice that is dry. garrison (459), Cin. city, Ohio, USA

Tastewise, it was malt-rich, with a deep, satisfying palate. CanIHave4Beers (916), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2008 This looks great with a huge white head leaving plenty of lace, the color is a sunny blonde and the beer is very cloudy. There is a cloying sweetness to the beer that compliments a very tasteful use of hops. The beer is very spicy and I get a good clove flavor mixing with an almost soapy and fruity dominant flavor. This smells spicy and sweet. The alcohol is kind of half hidden, it rears its head now and again but overall this is easy to drink.
