Bottle, 75cl corked. It started by bursting out of the bottle, not just once, but after pouring to glasses, it slowly started to come out of the bottle again, and then a third time. The beer had a golden color, with a lot of microfloaties, and an off-white head, big but diminishing. The nose was sweetish and citrusy, and quite spicy, with a vague alcohol note and a weak sour hint. It had a sweet and spiced flavor, with a nice bitterness showing up after a second or two. The bitterness were also very evident in the long finish, and had company by a spicy touch. A full-bodied, pleasant beer. (070915)

750ml bottle. Slightly cloudy golden colour with a big, rocky white head that proved long-lasting. Aroma of orange peel, coriander and yeast. Spritzy mouth fee with flavours of spice, citrus and some sweet malt. A pleasant ale but there are better ones out there.

Bottle. Full of all it’s component’s aromas, nutty for the malt, perfume for the hops and dough and musty for the yeast, with white wine, pear and allspice in the background. Head started large and rocky then flattened to a thin, creamy topping. Lacing varied from good to excelllent and the head, although small, lasted the whole glass. Color was hazy, but sparkling and medium sized particles arrived on the last pour, mellowing the aroma and the flavor quite a bit. Flavor started moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finished lightly sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate was medium, creamy with lively carbonation and finished a little metallic and astringent. This beer surprised me with it’s drinkablity and it’s fullness.

I think my bottle was slightly skunked...anyway the flavor came out quite nicely as it warmed but I’ve certainly had better

0.75L Bottle. Hazy gold with orange taints. Small but stable head. Strong aromas of malt and vanila with just a touch of hop. Dominant aromas of vanila continue in the mouth and behind them appear strong flavours of peach with some pleasant streaks of citrus which carry into the long and pleasant sour aftertaste. The mouthfeel is extremly creamy and smooth. Great with my own made feta and onion pizza.

Pours a golden red color with large off-white head. Lots of chunky floaters. Sweet candy, light fruit, citrus, banana, and spice in the nose. Same goes for the flavor except more orange and herb notes. Another tasty beer from d’Achouffe.

Bottle at wine frig temperature. Spicey aroma of light stone fruits, yeast and cardamom. Orange tinged golden color, tiny bubbles, and a white head that quickly flattened. Medium bodied with spritely carbonation. The flavor is pale malt accompanied by citrus notes and something slightly woody. The finish is dry, and something herby, wood, or phenolic tends to build with time (could be that menthol or resin others refer to, but not at all strongly aromatic). The flavor seems to go a little earthy after awhile, with hints of anise coming out.
