Ansset13 (121), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA Jan 19, 2008 The pour is a nice amber white a medium white head. The nose is complex with floral, yeast, and hints of sweet vanilla and sugar. The flavor, while lighter than expected has the same complexity. Nice, but I would like to age and try again.
JoeinUccle (658), Brussels, Belgium Aug 3, 2008 Sweetish and very malty but ultimately tasty beer. Big bottle pours chestnut brown with beige head. Nose is sweet and fruity, ripe-apple-cidery, with some caramel malt coming through in aroma. Tastes mildly sweet and moderately bitter, getting sweeter as you go. Very caramel-malty with some nice stewed-apple notes. Lively MF. Strength well hidden, nearly refreshing but also nearly cloying. Would be a killer complement to some roast pork or bird, I think. Dedollewaitor (1906), Odense, Denmark Aug 3, 2008 33cl bottle. Pours dark amber/brown with a creamy head & lacings. Aroma is pleasant, dakr fruits & caramel. Medium & smooth palate. Tiny bready & metallic note. Other than that quite good. Vinous & round. The best in the La Choulette series! IrishBoy (2111), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 9, 2008 750ml bottle from AllDayDrinker; Nose is slightly funky, light spices, and yeast; cloudy copper with a medium beige head; flavor has caramel, yeast, light fruitiness, and spices.
